COVID-19 Procedure Update (10/7/2020)
The increase in positive COVID-19 cases in Osage County has resulted in a procedural change in how close contacts are identified within the school setting. The Osage County Health Department collaborated with school districts to develop the following procedures for contact tracing:
Upon notification of a test positive student or staff member:
- School district will identify individuals who meet the criteria of a contact.
- Parents of students will be contacted. Identified contacts will be sent home. A letter with further information from the Health Department will be sent from the school at that time.
- The district will provide the list of contacts to the Health Department. The Health Department will make contact with each individual or family, and further discuss the quarantine process.
- Identified contacts must have a release from the Health Department before returning to school.
The Osage Co. Health Department and school district thank you for your continued cooperation on this issue.
