Hello! My name is Misty Hilkerbaumer and this is my 13th year teaching first grade at Chamois. I have an associate degree in Early Childhood Education Administration, a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, and a master's degree in Elementary Administration. I grew up in central Ohio and we moved here in 2008, after accepting this job! My husband, Jason, is a pastor at a couple of our local churches and a youth director for our presbytery. Our son, Tristen, and his wife, Katie, just had their first baby in March! Sydney, our daughter, is currently in college and works at a local vet clinic.
I absolutely LOVE teaching first grade! The kids grow so much during the year, but my favorite part of their education is watching them develop into READERS! It's a gift that can never be taken away and puts the world at their fingertips!
